Loui Meeuwissen
Amsterdam-based freelance spatial designer and experience designer focusing on exhibitions and queer (night) culture.
I would describe myself as a spatial storyteller. Sometimes these are my own stories, sometimes someone else's. The best is of course when your and my stories overlap. I'm looking for cute collaborations with nice people, to work out a story together and bring it to life. In this I like to be a spatial designer, experience designer, art director, director and/or scenographer. This can result in an exhibition, an experience, an event, a decor, a (brand) activation or a spatial intervention within a larger context.
My exhibition design career began with an internship at Kossmanndejong during a Bachelor of Spatial design (BA Interior Architecture) at the Willem de Kooning Academy Rotterdam. I continued my path at the Studio for Immediate Spaces (MA Interior Architecture) at the Sandberg Institute Amsterdam, from which my autonomous practice developed. In recent years I worked at Designwolf and Tinker Imagineers.
I am beginning to see more and more overlap between my autonomous work and work for clients: I incorporate my experimental artistic vision into design projects, and I incorporate my spatial vision on visitor experience into art projects.

I am building my network and getting to know people (better): send me a message if you want to get acquainted! I'd love to hear if you are or know someone who wants to collaborate, can get me involved in an existing project, or want to start a new project together.
